Reclaimed Yarn
So a friend gave me a sweater that she hated, XL super huge cowl for the express purpose of reclaiming the yarn. I pulled out my seam ripper (yes I just walk around with a seam ripper don’t you?) and got the work in the middle of a Starbucks while we waited for another friend.
Its Italian yarn and 42% wool, 41% mohair, 17% nylon. I think it would make a bunch of amazing scarves. Its a cream color that is not really to my tastes, but a perfect scarf color.
I still have the sleeves left to do but it’s good to know I can get workable yarn from it and not just lots of very short strands. I would open the drawer of sweaters that must not be worn, but most are of that material that can not be named. and I really don’t want to work with that yarn. Its no wonder I hated sweaters for ages when I had tons of chinele ones for reasons I don’t understand.
