Yarn! Clown Prince
There’s yarn, which normally isn’t news but when I make the yarn it is clearly is a thing to mention. In preparation for the Tour de Fleece, I wanted to finish the green yarn I was spinning. Or at least finish enough to ply with the last of my purple which was already spun up.
I started with that, all the purple spun up and less than a quarter of the green spun up, granted there is much more green than purple, to so the goal was to spin up enough green and not too little.
So as you can see I ended up with less than half the green spun up and more than I would need to ply all the purple.
Fully plyed and ready to be washed. You can see the left over green, in the background of the photo below. Plenty left over, Perhaps I will finish spinning the green and ply it with some white yarn I have, or get some black.
Just under 90 yards of about a fingering weight yarn. Now to decide if I will get more purple. I think I would also, have to get another noody as even in the warm weather it took over two days for the yarn to dry, and I did most of the spinning of the green and plying on Friday. It also makes me wonder if I will have enough fiber for the tour de fleece. Two loop batts, and a braid, as well as the rest of the green and some white fiber, should be plenty, I will still have a job and still be knitting as well.
