Feb. Shop Update: The Fellowship of the Ring

There are other markers in this shop update really. But there is one set that has me really excited. The Fellowship of the Ring, I made fou er three, yes three sets of these markers.

We have the nine walkers that set out from Rivendel in order;  Merry, Pippin, Sam, Frodo, Aragorn, Boromir, Gimili, Legolas, and Gandalf.

Moving to seasonally appropriate markers. Love Letters.

The seasons as a collection: Each set uses slightly different beads.

Accidental Inspiration

Inspiration comes in all sorts of places. I’ve been know to stare at and photograph the floor at a museum.  I feel like if you are a fan of the cigar smoking, beer guzzling, rage filled Canadian you will recognize the markers I came up with, when I was supposed to be taking photos for shop updates.

The funny thing is, it was much more round about that just thinking, hey I need more than just the Gambit Stitch Markers, for the Xmen.

I was taking pictures of my  Blue and Pink  markers. and I  started thinking of other things, that had spikes, then decided they looked a bit like claws. And who has the most famous geeky claws. Now  back to working from home on the not so snowy snow day.  For those who have it much worse stay safe!

Nov. Etsy Update II: With Bells On

It’s the second shop update for the month.  In a hope to makes sure holiday items get into the shop with enough time before Christmas. If you wader into the shop the code Gobble will get you 10% off until Friday, December 5th.

Everything is up in the shop and my goal is to have, one more update for the year on December 19th.  Until then enjoy!

November Shop Update: I’m Baaaack!

So after a few fairs, conventions, parties, also known as the month of October, I have spent time the last couple of weekends in the craft room.  So I am ready for this Friday’s shop update.  I have been playing with yarn and embroidery floss.  So there will be tiny  yarn skein earrings and pendants, both in solid colors and two tone skeins.

There will be more colors and pairs as time goes, but this seemed like a good start.  But who doesn’t want to wear a tiny yarn skein?

And that’s just the start.  We have an epic team of superheroes. No not that team. The other one, with Justice in their name.

Superman, The Flash, Green lantern, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Batman. The Justice League big six.

Spokes – A steampunk set with watch pieces on some gold tone markers.

The Golden Trio Stitch Markers. Hermione, Harry, and Ron.

Some new Peredhil stitch markers.

Keymaster Stitch  markers. No not that Keymaster….maybe next time.

Sept. Update: On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

There are more earrings, which have been lacking the last few months, and there are more Crochet Stitch markers. And a few more stitch markers. This will be the last update until November, as I will be running around NYCC, Rhinebeck, and having Halloween adventures. I will attempt to double up the November updates. With the current plan being one update on Friday Nov 7th and the second Monday Nov 24 in prep for Black Friday.

Now to the update:

On Wednesdays  We Wear Pink – Crochet Stitch Markers – I mean we all love mean girls right?

Iris – Greek Goddess of the Rainbow – Crochet Stitch Markers

Knotwork Stitch Markers – Silver/Gold

As per usual everything is now live in the shop and ready to be shipped.

August Etsy Update: Addams meet Sunnydale

After last month’s update a few other characters decided to join the fun and I figured it was a good time to put out the Halloween items as well when you have Sunnydale, and the Addams Family influencing your update it only seems right after all.

So in this update  we have sets for, Thing, Lurch, Pugsley, Wednesday, Gomez, Morticia, and Grandmama.

Most of the scoobies were available in the last update but this month we have Cordelia and Oz joining the ranks.

BtvsOz1  queenC2

And where there are scoobies there are villians. For now the Mayor and Glory

sunnydale3  glory5

Still more Buffy items in the works like earrings, and more markers if my season representatives are anything to go by.

Now then what do we have for halloween?

harvest1  orangeween1   pearring2

Lots of pumpkins so far.  I want to find a Halloween-A-Long. I have some black and orange fiber that I always planned to spin into a two ply together.  And the most wonderful time of the year is approaching.

July Etsy Update: Into Every Generation…

A slayer is born: one girl in all the world, a chosen one. She alone will wield the strength and skill to fight the vampiresdemons, and the forces of darkness; to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their number. She is the Slayer.

There was a theme in this update. Or well there was a theme and random geekery and Baseball. These things happen.  I started with Buffy, and was quickly followed by ideas for Spike, Dawn, Xander, Willow,  Oz, Giles, and more. So I give you the scooby gang that will protect your repeats. So we have, Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles, Dawn, Angel, Faith, Spike, and the Sunnydale Graduation (w/ Mayor).

Oz, Cordelia, Angelus, and Glorificus are all waiting until the next update to get their turn.

Leaving Sunnydale behind, after running the sign over of course we get into a mixed bag of fun. First up, The Subway Series; Yankees, Mets, and a mix of the two. The Subway is an interesting place whenever we get a subway series.

subway_yankees2 subway_mets6  subway_series3

We leave baseball behind and start looking at Bats. Batman with a Robin lobster claw to be exact.

Sticking with the natural theme we go from bats to spiders. or more Specifically a Black Widow, these Romanoff markers bring Black Widow in the shop for another solo run.

widow2That follows some magic mail, magic potions and ultimate potions.  Wizarding Postal Service, Love Potion #9, and the Blue Potion from Legend of  Zelda. Both Potions part of the House Sock family of stitch Markers.

wps5  lovepo_9_1  teal sock4

There has been some restocking and some additions to the Peredhil family of stitch makers. These with a knit end that can fit a 10 1/2 (6.5mm) needle.

And a New Lantern Corps set.

And we have a set of Mini Peredhil stitch markers.

There are not just stitch markers in this update calling to knitters, I have a feeling these earrings will too. A sweater WIP with beads I thought looked like the yarn ball they came from.

Iris Greek Goddess of the  Rainbow Earrings.

With a slight change – Hades and Persephone have both been restocked. Each now includes one marker from the other and a few other minor changes.

Aquaman Stitch Markers are back as well as the Union Jack Peredhil markers.

A full update for July.  Next shop  update will be August 22nd.

5KCBWDAY5: Something A Bit Different

Day5: It’s the annual challenge to blog in a way different to how you normally blog.

I’ve decided to post photos of things that have been inspiring me lately. Some have designs swatched and some are still ideas but its interesting the things I sometimes snap a photo of and think of recreating in yarn/beads or some other medium.  I tend to usually share the finished product not the item that gets the idea going. So here are some idea starters, with finished products to follow.
